I love summer time and the feelings of freedom and opportunity that come with it. I always start the summer with big plans — places to go, things to do — but the fact is that sometimes it’s the little stuff that is the most fun, you know?
Tonight, the kids played dress up and I invited them to my “restaurant” for a fancy dessert. My gourmet dessert was nothing more than a pack of sugar free pudding mix with Cool Whip and chocolate syrup, but they didn’t notice or even seem to care. We laughed and talked with funny accents and had a blast. Sometimes it’s the simple things that are appreciated the most.
Hope you’re enjoying your summer!

A couple weeks ago, I dropped off my kids at school, hopped in the car, and headed out for a little road trip. Things have been a bit crazy around here lately and I had been feeling a little tense. As I drove, the traffic on 1604 didn’t help to ease that at all. Finally, though, I merged on to I-10 and traffic eased as the road opened up to the awesomeness that is the Texas Hill Country. I cranked up the music and smiled as I soaked it all in — the road, the hills, the beauty. It felt good. Finally, I reached my destination, the home where Dana spent her teen years and where her mom and dad still live… a beautiful home on the grounds of the summer camp that they help to run. We spent the morning laughing and talking as we shot Dana’s bridal portraits, and it didn’t feel like work at all. Thanks so much to Dana and her mom, Betsey, for a great day! I can’t wait for the wedding!

You may have noticed some sweet new music on my website by an awesome new artist, David Gamboa. This guy is an amazing musician and songwriter and you will love his music! If you’re curious where you can hear more, check him out by clicking below.
I have to apologize for getting so behind. I promise there’s lots of blogging to come, the Holidays just make things a little crazy around here. I’ve got several weddings to post and a lot of portraits!
I am just getting ready to walk out the door for an awesome week with family, and wanted to wish you all a very happy Thanksgiving. I plan to eat lots of turkey, dressing, and pumpkin pie and have lots of good times with family. I hope your week is awesome and I’ll be back in the office on Saturday!
God bless!
Breanna
I have LOTS to post. 5 portrait shoots and a wedding are coming soon. I’ve been very busy shooting this week and have had no time to edit or blog or anything else. But I am still here and I’m excited to show you all the fun I’ve been having!
Also, a little reminder… I have a couple more spots open for the FREE Portrait Event coming up this Saturday, November 8th, so if you haven’t booked your mini session yet, now is the time!
Well, it’s finally time to announce the big day… Powerhouse Studios’ Holiday Portrait Event! You won’t want to miss this opportunity for a FREE mini portrait session for you and your family. Book your spot today by using the contact form on my website.

Also, I wanted to show you the new designs we’ve got for this year’s holiday cards. We offer 5×7 flat or folded cards as well as 5×5 tri-folds that are high quality, press-printed, and awesome!
Here are some of the designs. I’ve also got a few more simple and modern designs that I’m brainstorming at the moment…

Friday, I met our friends Barb & JD, along with their precious daughter, Morgan, for some relaxed portraits out in Bracken. Morgan just recently turned one (where did the time go?!), and she is so cute. Look at those big brown eyes! I had a great time! Here are a few previews from their session…
Towards the end of the session, we happened to be shooting outside Cradle Couture, and they brought out this hat for her to try on. Morgan wasn’t really sure what to think about that, but she tolerated it… for a minute.
