Baseball’s Opening Day is a big deal in our family. Particularly Opening Day for the Astros. So tonight we decided to start a new tradition and have a whole evening dedicated to all things baseball - peanuts and cracker jacks and all the rest. We had (and are still having, as the Astros game is just about to finally start) so much fun with it all.

(We also took some time to do some self-portraits since we don’t have any pictures of our family together at all!)

I was driving down the highway today and saw the first patch of bluebonnets. There were only about 10 of them in a tiny little patch, but they were there! It inspired me to take a long drive and kinda get away from things, if only for an hour or so. I love this time of year and all that it brings. Cool weather, grilling in the back yard, brightly colored dishes and patio furniture… I feel very blessed.

I always get quite a few requests for “bluebonnet portraits” this time of year, and I’ve always found them a little bit — tired, I guess. EVERYONE has pictures of their kids sitting in the middle of the bluebonnets, you know? It’s all the same. However, I think I’ve got some really cool bluebonnet pictures coming up. Here are a couple from last year.

I am not kidding when I tell you that my daughter BIT a chunk off of her bowl last night after dinner. A ceramic bowl. I mean… what is there to even say?! I didn’t even think that was possible without serious damage. My teeth hurt just thinking about it!

And I am WAY behind on blogging weddings and photo shoots. I’ve been having some Photoshop problems and have been too lazy to recreate all of my blog graphics again… and again… and again. (I need actions!) I should be getting it fixed soon though, so I will try to get caught up!

Tuesday morning I walked into my office to find that my husband had decorated my office for me and bought me flowers for my birthday. What a guy!

I know, I haven’t blogged in a while. Things have been crazy around here, business and otherwise. I think we all feel a little overwhelmed by it all sometimes. I’ve heard this song a hundred times, but only really heard the words today. (LOVE Caedmon’s Call!)

PS - It’s my mission this week to get caught up on my blogging. I have lots of pictures to post!

Well, the end of the craziest season of my LIFE is nearly over (I think). We’re all moved in and my internet is FINALLY back up today! Hard drive crashed a few weeks back, but I think I have most of my software and files back. Still a few things I’m yet to recover, but my awesome friend Daniel of grow development really was a lifesaver! A true hero! My whole family got sick, but I think we’re over that. Seriously it seems like one thing after another has caused chaos and disruption to my life. Despite it all, I’ve got to say, I’m feeling pretty good right now. I’m in a new place. A lot of cool things are going on, and I feel like even though things have been completely haywire at times, I feel like God has been in all of it. I’m excited though for a slower September - complete with cool afternoons with a glass of sweet tea, a somewhat back to normal schedule (if there is such a thing), and getting back in touch with all the people I’ve missed.

Well, I am sorry I’ve been sort of missing lately. Last week we were on vacation, just to come back and have four days to pack up our house and move. I’m excited about it all, but EXHAUSTED. I’m not the only one.

Well, I have lots of pictures to post from the last few weeks, but you’ll probably have to wait until things slow down next week.
