I’ve had so many bridal portraits that I’ve wanted to post over the past few months and waiting until the wedding was over has been so tough! But alas, the time has finally come to post the first of several awesome bridal sessions. Today we have Kristen, who is the sweetest, kindest, lovliest young woman. She is so classic. We had a great time the day of her shoot. We had only met a couple times before, but we quickly became friends. I was so excited to be a part of her and Bryan’s wedding on Friday night (be looking for a sneak peek of those pictures soon!). For now… here are a few of my favorite portraits from her session…

I had the great priviledge of getting to hang out with Lucinda and Mauro with their adorable son on his very first birthday. I love babies at that age, when they’ve just learned to walk and they are so expressive and fun. This little guy was very serious to start out, but it wasn’t long before we had him laughing and having a good time. I love working with families and watching them as they grow and change, and it’s such an exciting time with your first. Here are a few of my favorites from their session…

Historically, I have not been very good at blogging weddings. In a moment of honesty, I just get overwhelmed trying to select a “few” pictures that really represent the feeling, the look, and the mood of the wedding day. It’s too much! A wedding day is filled with so many fantastic moments and beautiful details, it’s so hard to narrow it down. The bottom line is that I believe my job is to tell a story — not to get a couple “pretty” shots (although I try!) — but to capture the feeling, the essence of the day…. I’m getting all wrapped up in my words, but long story short, this may be a lengthy blog post because I believe the story is more important than just a few pretty shots.
Tom & Katherine are simply the coolest people ever. (You’ve seen their awesome engagement portraits.) Their wedding day was beautiful and laid back and filled with laughter and close friends. I could go on and on, but I’ll let the pictures do the talking.

Today is a big day. I want to say thank you to all you fathers out there, and more specifically to my own amazing dad. You have influenced me more than you know, and in so many ways that I am only now beginning to understand. Thank you for making me feel beautiful and smart and that I could do anything. Words couldn’t say it all. I also would be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge my wonderful father-in-law who has welcomed me into his family with open arms and made me feel like his own. I feel so lucky to be surrounded by great dads.
Which brings me to my dear husband, whom I am celebrating today not only because he is a great father, but because six years ago today at this very moment, he was standing with me at the front of a church, promising to love me for the rest of my life. I thought that day was the best day of my life, and yet they keep getting better. Words fall extremely short. You make my life better and I love you.
And because every post is better with pictures, here are a few from our own wedding.
Enjoy!

Everyone talks about the look on the groom’s face as the bride walks down the aisle, and Aaron did not disappoint. I don’t think I saw anything else when I was walking down the aisle.

Me and my dad. I love you!

Stephen is just one of those guys you can’t help but love. He’s sweet and charming. My kids adore him and any time he’s around, they are climing all over him (he’s like 6′ 6″!). He had an awesome senior year playing basketball at MacArthur, and it’s no surprise that we just now finally made time to get a few senior portraits! Congrats, Stephen on your graduation and we wish you all the best as you move on to play ball in Oklahoma! You’re awesome!

Of course, I had to get a shot of Stephen with his mom!
