Saturday morning, as we were out running our family errands, the weather was pleasant and sunny. This is a great day for a wedding, I thought to myself. We went into HEB to do some grocery shopping, and when we came out, Aaron and I just stopped. The sky had turned dark and we could tell there was a huge rain coming. My heart sunk. Dana and Justin’s wedding was only a few hours away, and they had planned for a gorgeous outdoor wedding on the river at Camp Mystic, where Dana’s family lives. Fast forward a couple hours, I had driven through rain most of the way, and finally I arrived, expecting to find Dana in pieces over such a soggy wedding day.
However, when I walked in the door, I discovered something quite different. The house was filled with warmth and laughter, and Dana ran to give me an excited hug. It’s gonna be a great day! she said, and if you could’ve seen her smile, you would’ve known that she truly meant it. Rain or shine, this was going to be the best day of her life. And it was. It turned out to be a beautiful day! The rain stopped and the wedding commenced just as planned, and everything was perfect. Congrats, Dana and Justin! Thank you so much for letting me be a part of your wedding, but even more for making me feel like a part of your family. God bless your new marriage!
There are tons more pictures I could post from the wedding (and I hope to very soon), but I’ve been really bad at blogging my wedding photos because there are always so MANY. So today I am starting small with a quick preview of a few of my favorites. Baby steps.
This is a picture Dana had in her room of her and Justin when they were in high school. Isn’t that sweet?!
