Samantha and Liam had a beautiful sunset ceremony on the balcony of the Inn at Craig Place back in November and I thought I’d share just a few images from their intimate wedding. Their love (and the gorgeous lighting) was warm and gentle, and I loved being a part of it! Thank you to Sam and Liam for allowing me to part of such an intimate ceremony. God bless!

I love this picture!

Well you haven’t heard much from me lately. Sorry about that! January is typically a slow month in the photography world, so I’ve been taking a lot of time to try to work on things on the back end around here to make your experience with Powerhouse Studios even better! I’m excited about a lot of the changes I am in the process of making and I think you’ll be excited too!
I also realized I had a few small weddings that I never posted, and Tricia & Jimmy are one of those couples! They got married in December at [my favorite B&B], The Inn at Craig Place. I’ve said it before, but I just love being a part of these small weddings where you really get to know the families and really capture the feel. There was so much emotion that day. Lots of laughter and of course a few happy tears. So many times as I sit and look through a couple’s wedding photos, I find myself smiling unknowingly (and this wedding made me smile a lot!). Reliving those moments is just awesome. That’s why I love my job.
Thanks, Tricia & Jimmy!

It’s been a while since I’ve done it, but I like to stop now and again to appreciate the good things in life. Join in if you like!
- Facebook – it’s addicting. I get on just to check one little thing. Oh, it will only take a minute. Two hours later I seem to always find myself still there.
- Friends & Family - I feel very lucky to have family who are my friends, and to have friends who feel like family. I am surrounded by so many totally awesome people, and I feel so blessed.
- Harry Potter – I was skeptical about all the hype, but I saw a couple of the movies, then started reading the books and I LOVE it all! In addition to that, J.K. Rowling is my hero. I don’t know how anyone could ever dream up a story like that and turn it into seven interesting, intelligent, compelling, addicting, enormous books.
- Dresses – I actually hardly ever wear dresses any more, but I love wearing them, whether it be a sun dress or a fun dress for a night out.
- Eating Out – We didn’t eat out much when I was a kid, so I still feel like it’s such a treat to go out to dinner. We’ve actually eaten out quite a bit over the past few weeks with the holidays, etc. My two favorites that we’ve recently been to are Maggiano’s (Braised Beef Canneloni – YUMMY) and La Madeline (can we say Tomato Basil Soup?! Mmmm…). Both amazingly delicious!

A few weeks ago I headed downtown with Felicia & Adrian to hang out and shoot their engagement portraits. As it happened, we ended up at the exact location where Adrian had asked Felicia to marry him exactly one year ago. It was so sweet watching them together on that bridge, Felicia beaming as Adrian whispered into her ear. These two have something very special, I can tell. Thanks, Felicia & Adrian for spending a fun afternoon with me and I’m so looking forward to your wedding! God bless!

I hadn’t met Monica or Coby until moments before their wedding was to take place, but as soon as I walked in I could feel the love that filled the Inn and the family members in it. I walked upstairs to meet Monica and she was calm and radiant as she was getting ready, and she was so excited. Coby was downstairs, talking and laughing with family as they arrived and you could just see the deep joy that he was feeling about marrying Monica.
One thing I love about shooting weddings at the Inn at Craig Place is the moment when the bride descends the stairs and the bride and groom are still unable to see each other, but I get to watch both of their faces as they search for the other and then… wow. Monica and Coby had a beautiful ceremony. I love ceremonies where couples write their own vows, and when they finished theirs, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.
Thanks, Monica & Coby for letting me be a part of such an incredible day! God bless!

Ashley & Michael got married in November at the Witte Museum, and it was just gorgeous! More pictures from their wedding are coming soon, but I just had to share some of the fabulous details of their wedding day. Enjoy!
